Edinburgh music shop Backtracks 2nd hand store has a treasure
trove of interesting things to see located in central Tollcross
17 Brougham St, EH3 9JS. (Sat Nav) Ideally placed for those who
live or visit close ie The Meadows, Sick Kids Hospital, BTS,
Marchmont, Warrender, Bruntsfield or Morningside and only 5
minutes from City Centre or Haymarket reached by walking up
Morrison Street turn right past Woolworths (now Poundstretcher))
to junction with 5 exits at
Tollcross clock. If arriving by car
there are new parking bays opposite
Backtracks and some FREE PARKING spaces nearby
for 40 minutes or you are allowed 5 minutes on the yellow lines
at the door. Free cash point next door outside Post Office.
Certainly within minutes walking distance of Edinburgh Castle, Grassmarket, Royal Mile and city centre .
Bus services to Tollcross 2, 10, 11, 15, 15A, 16, 17,
22, 23, 24, 27, 30, 34, 35, 45. or No 24 to Backtracks door
From Haymarket train Station or the
west end of Princes Street head up Lothian Road (the main
artery) about 3/4 mile passing Woolworths (now Closed) the
New Bank of Scotland and MFI (closed) until you reach the
Tollcross clock. This local landmark stands in the middle of
the road at the main junction. From this position you can
see Backtracks music shop about 60 metres down Brougham St
just after the post office, just behind the bus shelter, on
the right hand side of the road. Always look out for The Mad
Hatter as seen below outside!
From the south A68, A7 or east A1 head towards The Meadows,
Melville Drive, Brougham Place/ Street. Look out for the Mad Hatter outside our
games shop here with Scottish Flag. sometimes you may find me in my kilt ie (St
Andrews Day) near KINGS Theatre around the corner. Look out for The Mad Hatter

Bridge, past Greyfriars Bobby, Forrest Road past old Royal Infirmary (now The
Quartermile ) past Chalmers Eye Pavillion past
Art college and Old Fire station down Lauriston Place
then left at Tollcross clock junction to Brougham St. If

From Morningside head towards City Centre via Bruntsfield
past Kings Theatre towards Tollcross junction and turn right
into Brougham Street at James Morrow home entertainment,
between foot clinic, Spanish Tapas + Kebab shop.
From the south A68 or A7, From DALKEITH or Penicuik head to
Cameron Toll, turn left towards The Meadows along Melville Drive
to Backtracks. which is in the second block of shops before the
